A company owns the bitcoin on its balance sheet. A fund holds bitcoin for its investors. We report those holdings separately.

Shareholders own a stake in the company. The company controls its bitcoin and decides whether to buy, hold, or sell it.
This group includes miners, other operating businesses, and companies whose main strategy is accumulating bitcoin.
Browse companiesInvestment funds
Investors own shares or units in a fund. The fund holds bitcoin under the terms of that product.
Both individuals and institutions can invest in these funds. Fund holdings alone do not reveal who the underlying investors are.
