What this IBIT balance represents
The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF holds bitcoin in a trust whose shares represent fractional beneficial interests in its net assets. The assets consist primarily of bitcoin held by a custodian.[1] This is not BlackRock’s corporate treasury balance. The register places the coins in the fund category and does not identify every individual or institution investing through the trust.
The holdings value above comes from the dated issuer file, not the prospectus or a trading-price estimate. Use the recorded CSV to inspect the observation that entered this edition. A later retrieval or site-wide snapshot does not make the source date later. Other fund products are not included in this balance.
Fund shares, expenses and redemptions
The linked prospectus states an annualized sponsor fee of 0.25% of net asset value. Expenses reduce the bitcoin attributable to each share over time. Only authorized participants can create or redeem large baskets with the trust; ordinary shares trade on the exchange and are not individually redeemable there for bitcoin.[1] These structural terms are separate from the number of bitcoin shown in the holdings file. Check current product documents before relying on fees or redemption arrangements.
